Yes, String Mops Are Still 'In'

WHY: Cotton string mops are more absorbent than flat mops. They work great for picking up spills. The strings can also get into corners and edges easier than other types of mops.

TYPES: Cotton string mops are best for everyday mopping and cleaning.
Synthetic or Rayon Blend string mops are best for applying floor finishes. These are not good for general mopping because they are not very absorbent. They are made to release the finish on the floor.

CARE: Be sure to rinse out your mop when you are done using it. Allow it to dry fully upside down before storing away. Do not store your string mop against the floor.

HOW-TO: After sweeping/vacuuming your floor, dip the mop into the cleaning solution and wring out with the mop wringer. Be sure to start on one end of the room, working back so you do not have to walk on the newly mopped floor. Work the mop in a figure eight shape on the floor, rinsing and wringing the mop often. Be sure to change your mop water if it gets dirty. Let the floor dry completely when finished. Rinse out your mop and allow to dry.
